The frameworks/libraries and tools I mentioned above are the ones I use on a day to day bases. Give me a project in one of the above and I will finish it from scratch.

I have used other frameworks like React and Aurelia but never created enterprise applications with them. But I am a quick and eager student if needed.

I am also a big fan of machine learning. I did my thesis about machine learning when I was in college but I have chosen for a career in Software Engineering. Now that AI and machine learning is getting back in the picture I started reading my old courses again and I am following some online courses on machine learning.

Work Experience
Team Lead, Development @Lightspeed
MAY 2016 - PRESENT

As a team lead I have the responsibility to lead and to guide my team as good as possible. Creating goals and objectives for everybody and reshaping them in one-to-ones are a big part of the job. Next to this I lead the "Frontend Guild" to create as good as possible web applications. This means architecting solutions, following up with the latest technologies and guiding fellow frontend engineers. After all the above, development still is part of my day to day job. Frontend engineering is one the fastest pacing technologies in the software world and I would lose touch if I would stop developing.

Frontend Engineer @Lightspeed
MAR 2015 - MAY 2016

As a frontend engineer in Lightspeed my main achievement was introducing Angular in to the company to replace the old legacy web application and to create an up to date application. The main reason for this new application was because the old application has gotten unmaintainable and had a poor performance.

Frontend Engineer @Onsophic Inc. as freelancer
OCT 2014 - JAN 2015

This was my first project as a freelancer where I helped the start-up (at that time) Onsophic to create a new online learning platform based on an existing REST service. We used the AngularJS framework to help us with this.

Software Engineer @EVS Broadcasting Equipment
NOV 2012 - MAR 2015

My main responsibility was to create new features and to maintain a media archive to request ingested video material. I was responsible for the frontend application written with Actionscript and the api consumed by it. At that time it was a SOAP api written in Java. At the end of my career I introduced AngularJS and created the first application with it. We got rid of the SOAP api and created a new REST api with Spring boot.

Education
Master's degree, Computer Science (Software Engineering) @University Ghent
2010 - 2012

I took a major in Software Engineering were we learned everything we needed to know about software architecture and software maintenance + the first steps in artificial intelligence and machine learning. In the end I wrote my thesis about detecting particular type of pages on the web with machine learning.

Bachelor's degree, Informatics @University Ghent
2005 - 2010

This bachelor’s degree was the preparation for my Master’s degree. We learned all the basics of programming, algorithms, databases and Math to be ready for the Master degree.
